Author Katie Hale Comes to Emma’s Dell
We are pleased to announce that local author, Katie Hale, will be visiting Emma’s Dell on Tuesday 18 June at 7.30pm. Katie is an award-winning poet, novelist, lyricist, and all-round creative based in Shap, Cumbria. She was poet-in-residence at the Wordsworth Trust in early 2019.
MY NAME IS MONSTER is a powerful, lyrical dystopian novel. A sickness and a war have blighted life on earth and yet a woman known as Monster has survived. This is Monster’s story. From the upland hill farm to the post-apocalyptic city, the novel crosses the land as it deals with themes of motherhood, work and survival.
Katie will be reading from her debut novel, and in conversation with Drs. Polly Atkin and Will Smith.
